As you may have noticed by now I am a bit of a foodie. I love to eat and I love to try new restaurants. Last weekend a friend invited me to try a Mexican restaurant that neither of us had been to before. I jumped at the chance. We made a 7 p.m. reservation at Playa Cabana on Sunday the 19th, this happened to be the long weekend. We had heard that this place gets quite busy. We arrived at 6:55 p.m. on the tails of a family of four who were just walking into the restaurant. We waited for an opportune moment and notified the greeter of our arrival. They explained that we would have to wait a few minutes as some guests were getting ready to leave...

I recently went to the Corner House during Winterlicious. I called to make a reservation for Friday February 3rd and was greeted by a recording saying the restaurant was full for the remainder of Winterlicious. Desperate to get a Friday reservation, I went on-line to “Open Table” and was able to get a 8:15 pm reservation for Friday. Thank goodness for on-line restaurant reservations!

Every winter I make an effort to check out at least one new restaurant through Winterlicious. The annual extravaganza allows you to visit a number of very popular Toronto Restaurants and eat from a three course prix fixe menu. The menus range from $15-$25 for lunch and $25-$45 for dinner per person...
